WHAT: During a ceremony hosted by state Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk), Route 255 from Hemlock Avenue to near the intersection of Gardner Hill Road in Elk County will be dedicated to Dr. Betty Hayes, who received national recognition in the 1940s when she fought for the health and safety of miners in the surrounding area.

WHAT: The House Republican Policy Committee will discuss rare-earth elements (REEs), minerals which used in electronics, clean energy, aerospace, automotive and defense. While China has the highest reserves of REEs, a Penn State University study revealed the existence in Pennsylvania streams of the most sought after heavy rare-earth elements.
