Solar Grant Awarded to Ridgway School, Armanini Says

RIDGWAY – A Solar for Schools grant awarded today will help Ridgway Area School District create a solar generation system for its schools, according to Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Elk/Clearfield).

The $480,000 grant was part of several announcements designed to help Pennsylvania schools reduce their costs associated with implementing solar energy systems.

“I commend Ridgway’s leaders for seeking this funding to reduce their overall utility bills and lessen their dependence on our troubled power grid,” Armanini said. “The installation of systems like these also provides for educational opportunities in the science, technology and mathematics (STEM) curriculum.”

The Solar for Schools Grant Program was established by the Legislature in 2024.
