HARRISBURG – State Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) and state Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk) are pleased to announce more than $1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants being awarded to five Clearfield County recipients.
“In four of these instances, the grant being awarded will be used to replace equipment that is no longer cost effective to repair,” Armanini said. “The other grant will help take the next step in exploring the creation of an exciting tourism and recreational opportunity in Clearfield County.”
The grant recipients include:
• Bloom Township - $216,756 for the purchase of a new dump truck with attachments.
• Brady Township - $71,468 for the purchase of a new truck.
• Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation - $615,664 for engineering and design costs related to construction of whitewater parks in both Clearfield and Curwensville boroughs.
• Penn Township - $140,000 for the purchase of a truck with a plow and spreader.
• Troutville Borough - $65,642 for the purchase of a plow truck.
“I am pleased to partner with Rep. Armanini to secure this important funding,” said Langerholc. “These grant awards from the Local Share Account help ensure that our region receives the funding it needs to complete public projects that improve our communities.”
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
