State Grant to Facilitate New Fire Station for DuBois, Says Armanini
4/22/2022
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk) is pleased to announce funding for a new fire station in the City of DuBois thanks to a state grant announced Friday.

“I’m happy to make this official on the heels of last month’s unanimous decision by the DuBois/Sandy Township Joint Board to pursue a new structure,” said Armanini. “The larger facility will be a perfect fit to serve as the main firefighting headquarters for the city.”

The $900,000 grant, a product of the Office of the Budget’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), will fund the purchase of land and construction of a state-of-the-art fire station complete with meeting rooms, bunk rooms, day facilities, apparatus bays, and training room.

“This is an investment in our emergency responders, something that we frankly don’t do enough of in Pennsylvania,” Armanini added. “I’m looking forward to this building going into service in support of the men and women who are here for us in our greatest time of need.”

RACP is a Commonwealth grant program that is used for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
